Being in Witness Protection is all about reinvention. You take the person that you were and turn it into the person you want to become. Your slate is wiped clean and you can turn yourself into someone completely different.

It's why when Katherine asks her if she wants to go out tonight, she decides to go for it. She lets her sister dress her up, and do her hair and make up. She feels ridiculous, but she remembers a time when she used to know how to have fun.

She gets to the club, and that ridiculous feeling doesn't go away. She feels awkward in her heels, the outfit Katherine put her in shows far more than she's usually comfortable with showing, and she doesn't really feel like dancing. She and Katherine part ways, and she makes her way to the bar, looking for somewhere to sit.

She settles at the bar with a sigh, watching the crowds of people and trying to figure out where to start. She used to be good at this.

She wonders what happened.

Witness protection is never an easy thing, no matter who you are.

Cutting yourself off from everything you've ever known is one of the hardest things a person can do. You have to completely start over with a new name and have to make new friends. You leave everything you've ever known behind, and no one handles that with as much grace as they could. They can't. Human beings just aren't wired that way. Katherine isn't the exception, and her case comes with a lot of complications. Klaus and the Mikaelsons aren't easy to hide from, which means nothing gets left behind.

Nothing, including Katherine's twin sister.

As they pull into the driveway, Buffy spots the sedan sitting there and pauses. "Is that your sister's car?"

If she's here, it may be easier to talk to her. Get it out of the way in the comfort of her own home. She just hopes that the Mikaelsons' don't have ears in there listening.
